Experience a wonderful cruise on a houseboat

We start on day 1 at about 10 am with the drive from Kochi to Alleppey and need for the 75 km about 2 hours. Upon arrival at Alleppey, board your houseboat at lunchtime. Lunch is served on board.

The crew consists of a captain, helper and a cook who will take care of you perfectly. The houseboat cruises through the serene backwaters, wider and narrow canals lined with lush green rice fields, villages, temples, churches, rustic homes, etc., giving you the opportunity to experience life on the backwaters. Here is a gentle rhythm.

Your cruise begins at Vembanad Lake - one of Kerala's major tourist attractions, with a vast network of inland channels that deserve the name "Venice of the East". This large network of channels is Alleppey's survival line. Alleppey was one of the busiest commercial centres of the past with one of the most famous ports on the Malabar coast. Even today, it retains its charm as the centre for coir carpet industry and the shrimp farming. Alleppey, the backwater tourism hub, is known for its spectacular snake boat race, which is celebrated every year by over a hundred rowers in August.

In the evening, we will serve your dinner aboard the houseboat - a simple meal prepared using traditional Kerala cuisine. At sunset, the boat will anchor in a quiet bay.

At night, the gentle waves will accompany you to sleep.

Before we return to Kochi on the second day, we will go on a short cruise with you again. After breakfast, leave the houseboat for the return to Kochi.

Our driver will drop you off at Fort Kochi early in the afternoon.
