An excursion into the beautiful countryside of India

We will start with you in the morning in Kochi for a 3-day trip (2 nights) inland towards Chinnar. For about 200 km distance we need about 6 hours by car and reach the Chinnar forest station in the afternoon.

After arriving you will meet your naturalist/local escort and the team of eco-guides. After a short briefing, you will be guided on a trek through the dry deciduous thorny scrub forests of Chinnar. A one hour trek will end at the campsite near river Pambar. You will be staying a log hut. Trek around your camp with your naturalist for more wildlife viewing. These forests are home to one of the most endangered mammals of India, the Grizzled Giant Squirrel. The dry deciduous forest of Chinnar gives you an excellent opportunity to watch wildlife at close quarters. Stay overnight at camp.

The next morning you can do another hike around the camp very early and then enjoy a delicious breakfast. After breakfast, head off to Champakkad with your companions. Take a dip in the Pampar River to cool off during the hike. The two-hour trek ends in the camp at Vasyappara, where you will spend the night in a very simple hut. For lunch and dinner, simple vegetarian food is cooked and served by your hosts at the camp. The camp on the top of a hill is an ideal place to watch animals and stars at night. Overnight in the hut.

Start early in the morning of the third day before breakfast to find animal tracks around the camp, carefully watching animals and birds without disturbing them. You can not be closer to nature. Your eco-guides will accompany you. After a delicious breakfast, you will now walk with your guides back to the first forest station in Chinnar and have another opportunity to admire the nature.
